Travelling to Stafford

Hey guys!

I'm currently on a train to Stafford to go and visit my family. I'm writing this on my kindle as I wanted to keep luggage as light as possible so sorry if this isn't great! It's a long old journey but I have a few magazines and books on here to keep me entertained. I'm currently reading Six Months in Montana by Pamela Kelley (it's free to download for kindle) it's just a nice easy feel good read and I would recommend it for just before you go to sleep or if you are travelling like me.

The WiFi connection on this train is dodgy and I'm worried the post is going to be lost but let's just hope it survives! Also I'm loving snapchat recently the new filters for selfies are hilarious! Add me if you like my user is lilyy22. I will be snapping my journey and whilst I'm up there if you'd like to see what it looks like.

Looking out of the window the countryside is so pretty, I'm more of a city lover myself but I can still appreciate it for sure. I like the fact that I have experienced living in both the north and the south, they both have completely different vibes. Which do you prefer? Let me know in the comments.

Oh here's something random for you, I found out last night that a kindle charger will also charge a PlayStation controller. I guess it's cause they both just use USB. Still handy to know! Anyway I'm going to leave it there as autocorrect is driving me crazy.

Autumn Fashion Finds ♡

Hey guys! :)

Autumn is my favourite month of the year, I just love how everything is so cozy. Warm drinks, woolly jumpers and cardigans, BOOTS, stepping on a crunchy leaf, collecting conkers and curling up on the sofa with a fluffy blanket. That's my idea of heaven.

One of the best excuses to go shopping is when the seasons are changing, you have to be prepared!! Here are a few things I've spotted on my travels recently:

Faux Suede Zipped Wide Fit Ankle Boots with Insolia from Marks and Spencer £39.50
You've got to have a cute boot for autumn, they look great with jeans, thick tights and a skirt or even leggings. I always like to go for faux suede and leather because its animal friendly and WAY cheaper!

Tan Contrast Faux Fur Trim Blanket Wrap from New Look £24.99 (also available in grey)
Wraps are so on trend this season and this one is faux fur lined so it will keep your neck nice and warm as well as your body. New Look is one of the best shops I know for reasonably priced good quality clothes, and this item is sure to last you at least a few years.

Long Ribbed Twisted Yarn Cardigan from Zara £39.99
This is one for your day off when you want to feel your most comfortable, but still rocking a stylish look. Again it's easy to wear so you don't have to spend hours planning an outfit, just throw it on with a plain jumper or t-shirt and pair with jeans or leggings.

Burgundy Wool Fedora Hat by F&F at Tesco £14.00
For years I thought that I wasn't a hat person but then I tried one like this on and it looked pretty cool. I think it suits long haired people better because it makes a good contrast, but that's just my opinion! It's amazing how by adding just a simple accessory you can make an outfit seem so much more classy and chic.

That's all for now guys, hope you liked this post and it gave you some inspiration for future outfits! I may do a part 2 to this post as I'm always finding new things I love and want you to enjoy them as well. Leave a comment if you like, I would really like some feedback so I can improve my posts.
See you next time!

Hey Guys!!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a few days, been traveling for work and when I got home I was too tired to write. So on Tuesday I am going back to Stafford to visit my family (SO excited!) as I haven't seen them since July. We are going on a huge shopping trip so I will show you everything I got when I return, plus a few pics of my super cute doggies.

ALSO I totally forgot its now PSL season and Starbucks have the cutest cups this autumn, a coffee date will defo be needed to get one of those bad boys.

I mean just look how pretty that is! :)

Moving on to fashion news, THE NEXT SALE IS ON until Monday 7pm people of the UK get yourselves down there! I had a quick look in there before work and there were some lovely pieces in there (you have to rummage though all the old summer stuff but if you are a dedicated shopper like me you WILL find some absolute steals). Don't forget about the homeware section as well, I saw some blue scallop shaped tea light holders for just 50p each!

Hope you all are having a lovely day, I really appreciate everyone who reads my blog and if you have your own please leave a link in the comments so I can have a look! :) See you next time!

My Favourite Healthy Teas

Hey guys!

My close friends and family know that I'm a little bit obsessed with drinking tea (how very British of me) and I actually have an entire cupboard in my kitchen just filled with loads of different boxes of the stuff. I just love the feeling of coming home after a long day, putting the kettle on and making myself a lovely warm drink. I don't know what it is but there's something about this ritual that I find very soothing. I tend to drink herbal teas which have one of two calories per cup, and the occasional English breakfast which only has calories from the soy milk I add. That being said I have tried loads of different teas and would like to share some of the best ones with you!

1. Starbucks Jasmine Orange - it is green tea based so very refreshing and is a much healthier replacement to a morning coffee. Price £3.99 available to buy at your local store (it doesn't appear to be on the website unfortunately).

2. Clippers Pear and Honey Green tea - I love the unique flavour of the pear in this tea, it's fairly mild so great for when you are winding down. Price £1.89 available in most UK supermarkets also on Ocado.com

Tetley Super Green Tea Immune Tropical - This tea is a great way to get your daily dose of vitamin C without even noticing, plus it tastes great! They do a whole range with different vitamins added so its definitely worth checking out. Price £1.40 from Sainsburys.

English Tea Shop 'Slim Me' - I loved the fact that all of the ingredients in this tea are organic, plus it comes in the cutest packaging with a little message on the individually wrapped tea bags. Price £2.25 from GrapeTree (also available on Amazon)

So there you have it, if you are reading from countries outside the UK I'm sure you can find these online but they will of course be a bit more pricey. I will most likely do another post about this in the future as I am always finding new ones that I love. Thank you for reading and I hope you all are well! See you next time!

Beauty 101: How to Tell What Skin Type You Are

Hey guys!

So in my previous post I talked about how to prevent breakouts and one of the tips was to know your skin type and use the right products for it. Sometimes it can be hard to tell which type you are so I'm just going to do a quick and simple explanation to help clear things up (see what I did there haha~).

Dry Skin:
  • Your skin feels really tight when you wake up
  • If you don't moisturize multiple times a day it feels irritated
  • You get flaky patches especially around the hair line
Oily Skin:
  • Your skin feels uncomfortably oily when you wake up and you need to wash your face like NOW
  • After a long day at work or school the first thing you want to do when you get home is take your makeup off.
  • You have to use oil free makeup products and skincare or you will end up with a face full of breakouts
Combination Skin
  • You find that your T-zone produces a small amount of oil
  • Your cheeks feel tight and dry, especially on a cold day
  • You get a few breakouts every so often generally around the chin and jawline area

If you are one of those rare people who has "normal" skin, congrats! Personally I have never met someone with this blessing but if that's you then please let me know!

As always thank you so much for reading if there is a topic you would like me to cover let me know in the comments, I am going to try to post everyday. See you next time!

P.S What do you think of the layout? Should I change it or leave it plain?

Beauty 101: How to Prevent Breakouts

Hey guys!

As a teen I suffered from breakouts regularly and they kept coming back even though I cleaned my face obsessively and used about 300 types of spot cream. I couldn’t understand why they kept coming back and just put it down to hormones. However now that I’m a little older I’ve picked up a few tips that I wish I would’ve known at the time, so I’m going to share them with you now.

Tip 1
Wash your makeup brushes REGULARLY. You need to get rid of all the bacteria that grows on the tiny bristles, because if you don’t you will spread it all over your face (gross) and cause blemishes. You don’t need an expensive brush cleaner just use a gentle soap or facial cleanser and wash until the water runs clear.

Tip 2
Know your skin type and buy products that are suitable for it. You will either have dry, oily or combination skin (if you aren’t sure what type you are please see my upcoming post). Try to cleanse tone and moisturise at the end of each day, getting into this will routine will work wonders for your skin.

Tip 3
Change your pillow cases regularly. This is similar to the brushes, if you go weeks on end putting your face on the same pillow case then bacteria will build up and cause spots. Also if you have a partner make sure you both have your own pillow. Such a simple change but it really will make all the difference.

Tip 4
Remove your makeup every night WITHOUT FAIL. I know after a long night out its easy to say you can’t be bothered and you’ll do it in the morning, but this is a sure-fire way to cause breakouts. Even if you give it a once over with a face wipe (avoid ones with strong chemicals) it is better than leaving it completely.

That’s all for now, I may do a part two in the future as there’s other beauty tips I have in mind. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I hope you found this useful and enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. See you next time!

Hello World!

I'm Lily, welcome to my blog!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know the kind of thing I plan on writing about. This blog is going to consist of fashion, beauty and lifestyle posts (and I might throw in the odd random one if something springs to mind).

A little bit about me: I am twenty-two and live with my partner in the south of England. I am veggie and a supporter of animal rights- I share a lot of posts about this on my Facebook page as they can be a real eye opener. I am a reality TV junkie, especially when it comes to anything Kardashian (new eps on Sunday for UK!). I love watching YouTube videos, the main ones I go for tend to be fashion halls, beauty tutorials, vlogs and ASMR.

Anyway that's enough about me, I would love to get to know you so please leave a comment!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this - first proper blog with be out very soon!
